They Come From Other Worlds part 2

Earlier I wrote about the emergence of the first Fish Folk in my studio. He was followed by a female. There are more waiting in the queue. These were heavily influenced from my my childhood. Our home was filled with traditional folk dance costumes from various parts of the world, Europe, middle east, Scandinavia and asian areas. They seem to surface in a mash up with my characters.

Though I imagined them in full color, I went with a patina wash in the end. The figures are textured and a mix of colors could become too busy and much of the detail could get lost for the viewer.

Accentuating textures
I tested this finish combination on only one at a time. Though I had run tests, I still was uncertain of the outcome.
